Dump Truck with Bed Up Destroying Highway Sign
A dump truck driver in Texas who doesn't realize that his dump bed is up and proceeds to plow through a highway sign, bringing it crashing down. The passenger filming the incident tries to signal the dump truck driver that his dump bed is up but to no avail. |

In the Texas video I think I would have pulled my truck over in front of him and pumped my brakes or something to slow him down. Pull up next to him and honk your horn, signal him to roll his window down and yell at him. Point at his tire to make him think he's got a tire problem. Anything! The signal they were giving him was just lame. Then, when they failed to stop him, they kept driving so close behind him that the overhead structure almost landed on them. A real pair of rocket scientists there. I would have pulled over onto the shoulder and waited for the inevitable to happen. Passenger tells the driver, "Shut up, man!" If I'm the driver I would have told him, "Hey, I'm driving so fuck you, Clem!" I'm from Texas so I have to deal with idiots like this on a daily basis. But the bottom line is the dump truck driver was a moron for not realizing his dump bed was up. They should put an alarm of some kind in the cab to warn the driver. Actually, the dump truck is lucky he hit the overhead structure because if he had hit that concrete overpass it would have been lights out for him and a lot of other people on the freeway and on the overpass. In the second video from Equador a couple of cars just barely escaped being flattened like pancakes. OK, I guess I've ranted long enough. |
