Dump Truck Backs Up Over Blind Couple Walking in the Street
Peru, A blind couple were walking down the street, when suddenly, without realizing it, a dump truck that was reversing ran over them. According to the sister of one of the victims of this accident, the couple went out to buy bread just a few blocks from their home. “We live a few meters from where everything happened, they usually go out to buy bread, they would go and come back. The truck was backing up and they didn't see it, unfortunately there was no one on the block so that someone could alert my sister for the truck coming their way" said the sister of the victim. The worst part was taken by the woman, identified as F. d. M. S. (44). She was transferred to the health clinic and is in the intensive care area where she has already undergone surgery to rebuild her spine. In addition, the medical staff that has been treating the woman also detected severe damage to the pelvis and must still undergo three more operations so that she can mitigate the damage caused by this accident. “My sister is in a critical condition, they don't give us much information, what we need is support, she has had a pelvic operation. She has had hemorrhages from the same operation that they have done to her. What the doctors themselves have recommended to us is that we transfer her to another clinic, but she must have ICU beds and an ambulance to be able to transfer her,” she said. For his part, F. d. M's partner was treated for the blows and injuries caused by the hit, but after that he could be transferred to his home to rest from the accident. Meanwhile, F's family urged the Ministry of Health to help her because they do not have the financial resources and the account at the clinic amounts to 22,000 sol, in addition to the operations that still need to be carried out without mentioning the medications and the rehabilitation that she will have to carry out after completing her treatment. |

~ If the blind leading the blind isn't bad enough, then the blind leading the blind thru the middle of the street is even worse. ~ Those trucks need backup sound alarms, but then this is Latin America, & they can't even afford to buy brakes. |
