I agree that granny should have looked both ways, but at 16 you can clearly see her look to the right, she was in the process of looking to her left and slowing down but the kids were anxious and moved ahead of her, kids have little peripheral vision until the age of 13 to 15 so gran should have been a little more vigilant. The driver was clearly in the wrong, he knew he was going the wrong way, new the risks and took them anyway. In the eyes of the law the driver will be prosecuted, in a civil suit some blame would go to gran. I guess when she was a kid the horse and carts just moved a little slower :) |
