March 16 2009 Topeka A 37-year-old Topeka woman has been arrested after her white Oldsmobile found itself between Evan Williams bourbon on aisle 1 and Lord Calvert whiskey on aisle 2 at a liquor store in southwest Topeka.
Barbara Leaper allegedly crashed her car into Devlin's Wine and Spirits, S.W. 29th and Wanamaker at 8 p.m., said Topeka police Capt. James Scott.
Arriving on the scene at 8:10 p.m., Topeka police officers found the Oldsmobile fully inside the store.
The store's video camera captured the accident and showed a customer walking out the door moments before Leaper's car rammed through.
A manager of Devlin's estimated the damage in the thousands, police said.
Leaper was booked into Shawnee County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
