Drunk Son of Candidate Mayor Drives into People Sitting in Front of Pizzeria
At 8:45 pm, a car ran over several people in a pizzeria in the city center of Itupiranga, southeastern Pará. There are indications that the driver, known only as “Patrick” , son of a former alderman, allegedly was intoxicated, causing the accident and fled the scene, mocking the victims, showing a beer bottle through the window of the vehicle. The car was at a low speed, but even so, it threw several people up on impact. Children and the elderly were hit by the car. There are no reports of serious injuries. After the impact, the victims set off on the bumbling driver, but he shifted into gear, managed to escape, before being grabbed by shoppers. Patrick's father would be a candidate for mayor in 2020 in Itupiranga, but so far, the family has not issued any clarification on what happened. The Itupiranga Municipal Traffic Authority (AMTI), the body responsible for traffic in the city, has not yet commented on the possible intentional run-over caused by “Patrick”. |
