A car driver under the influence of alcohol created a rampage at the Bakhtiyarpur toll plaza on the National Highway in India when he repeatedly entered different lanes at high speeds, deliberately smashing through multiple boom barriers instead of paying the toll.

CCTV footage showed the car making multiple rounds to continue the destruction.

When toll employees attempted to intervene, the occupants of the car allegedly chased and issued death threats to the staff, causing widespread panic.

Three individuals have been arrested and sent to jail in connection with the vandalism and intimidation. They were identified as: Sanjay Singh,
Gaurav Yadav and Deepu Singh.

Under India's updated traffic rules effective April 2026, drunk driving carries a penalty of ₹10,000 plus potential jail time.
