Drunk Female Motorist Hits Two 10 Year Old Boys on a Bicycle
Two boys (10) on a bicycle were hit by a speeding Toyota when they crossed the road near an unregulated pedestrian crossing. Both kids were hospitalized. One of them with fractures and bruises and is in a serious condition. After medical examination, a 33-year-old local woman who drove the car, was found drunk. She was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. She will have to appear in court. She also had a record for previous traffic violations. |

In Tucson, they have a "Ghost Bicycle" Group. They put up bicycles painted entirely white at the side of the road where someone on a bike was killed. They are scattered all over the city.

OMG, those poor boys.  POS woman!  Hope she goes to prison for a while. I don't get why people drink & drive. So stupid. I know a lot of people who've committed vehicular homicide or died by drunk drivers. There needs to be more public announcement about drunk driving. Like at bars show graphic pictures in the bathrooms of the aftermath of drunk driving. Something needs to be done, cuz this is a serious issue. |

Yeah, anyone who drinks and drives is a POS. And yeah, drink drivers who cause accidents should be put away for a very long time. Especially if people are killed or severely injured. I agree with all that. But those poor kids weren't hit because she was drunk - they were hit because they quite literally rode straight into oncoming traffic, right in front of her. On a wet road as well, straight out in front of the car, giving the driver zero time to react. There wasn't anything anyone could've done there to avoid them. Those dumbarse kids were gonna be hit there doing that regardless of her being a drink driving arsehole or not. Bad that the kids got hurt or killed and all, but it looks to me that it's their own stupid fault. |
