Mexico, Aug 13. Two more people died the next day after a group of 7 people were run over by a car with an intoxicated driver behind the wheel, bringing the number of deaths to 3.

The deceased were two men, 42, and 49 years old and a child under 14 years whose name remain unknown who died at the site.

Four more people remain hospitalized in the General Hospital of Traumatology. One had his leg amputated.

The group of people were waiting for public transport when a gray colored vehicle slammed into them.

When some people came to try to help the wounded, the driver left the vehicle and after noticing the magnitude of the events fled the scene. Several neighbors chased the subject. He was caught and reeked of alcohol witnesses told.

All that carnage because some drunk decided he was gonna drive.

Frankly, my opinion on the handling of drunk drivers:

Drive drunk, caught, don't hurt or kill anyone, your own car: Lose license permanently, car confiscated, not allowed to buy any other vehicle, can only use public transport or a bicycle.

Drive drunk, car stolen: Loss of both legs at the knee and one hand. No pension or other government support. Make a living doing call-center work or data entry with remaining hand.

Drive drunk, injure or kill someone whilst doing so: Death sentence.

I think folks would get the message pretty quickly after that.

I am a believer in using hired cars for your night out own the town, or at least keep your ass home or wherever you're drinking... I wish everyone else would follow suit. Way to many people out there dying or being maimed by drunk driving.
