Re: Daewoo Crashes into a Pole on Highway, Killing 2
I figured that the instant fireball on impact suggested the car had a poor safety rating. ARCAP testing (of a 2002 model) resulted in a score of 0.6 out of a possible 16 points! That's no stars on a five star scale. Daewoo Nexia does not withstand a displaced shock at a speed of 64 km/h - during the crash test, the driver's door was destroyed, the threshold was crumpled, the front pillar shifted back by 370 mm, the steering wheel - by 290 mm, and the legs of the "driver" were squeezed between the pedals, which went 410 mm back, and the folds of the floor. Only the Chery Amulet was crushed more! The terrible quality of the metal and welding is to blame. Any part of the body, except for the chest, of a person driving a Nexia in such a blow is at high risk of injury. The passenger has a tensile load acting on the neck close to critical. The overall level of protection is depressing: only 0.6 points out of 16 possible. https://autoreview.ru/arcap/cars/Daewoo/Nexia |

Oh, C'Mon! Give them the credit for the .06 points they DID get! There would be PRACTICALLY NO DAMAGE at ALL to their left patella, and their right hand, 2nd and 3rd finger interstitial digits. Bunch of Negative Nellies! |

Daewoo used some of the blueprints from the Ford Pinto to build the Nexia.
