Crane Lifting a Lorry Over the Side of a Small Bridge Goes Wrong
A crane topples over the side of a bridge and falls several feet into the muddy waters of a canal below when two cranes together trying to pull up a lorry over the side of a small bridge across a canal in India. Suddenly the cable connecting to one of the crane arms snaps, and the weight of the lorry is fully transferred to the other crane, which is not big enough to lift it alone. Then the cable connecting the lorry to the jib of the second crane holds fast, the weight of the lorry lifts the operating cabin a few feet above the ground, and for a couple of seconds it totters precipitously. Then with a loud crash the whole crane falls off the bridge into the flowing waters below, bringing down the sidewall, branches of trees and cables with it. Local media reports said the driver of the crane managed to break out of his cabin and swim to the near shore of the canal. |

I look forward to seeing the next vid of an even bigger crane trying to lift both vehicles out of the water.

Re: Crane Lifting a Lorry Over the Side of a Small Bridge Goes Wrong
Swimming Indian Man still looked like he was hurt a bit or maybe just barely knew how to swim. He didn't have that spritely Johnny Wesiweller dash for the shore you'd expect with a 10-ton crane that nearly came down on you. At the very least, he got shook. He seemed to vanish before hitting the shore.
