i wonder if there were traffic lights there. Even though that car did seem to be traveling fast in that area, the pedestrians should have walked across when the lights turn red and then they have the right of way...I lived in NJ and people would just cross the street with out looking and with out waiting for the traffic lights to turn red before they cross. If you get runneth over, you deserved it...but only if this was the case.
