Re: Ceiling Fan Falls on Kid's Trampoline
Surveillance footage shows a child's mother tidying up the house. As she leaves, the baby follows closely behind, crawling to find her. About 15 seconds later, the ceiling fan suddenly falls, fortunately avoiding the baby. "I was out at the time, and my wife called me, so I rushed back. I later checked the surveillance footage and saw what happened." Mr. Wang posted the video online as a reminder: "Overhead ceiling fans should be regularly inspected to eliminate potential safety hazards. Safety is paramount." On July 31, a reporter from Xiaoxiang Morning News contacted Mr. Wang, who explained that he has three children and that he had taken his two older children out that morning. The youngest, aged one year and one month, was at home with his mother at the time of the incident. "While his mother was clearing the table, the child tried to crawl over to her. About 15 seconds into the process, the fan fell, nearly hitting the child." After receiving his wife's call, Mr. Wang immediately returned home. "Underneath the fan are the trampoline and slide, right where the kids often play." Mr. Wang checked and found the trampoline's nylon netting had been severed. "Normally, I pull hard and it won't break, but that day it was severed. I can't imagine what would have happened if someone was underneath." Mr. Wang said the fan had been used for over 20 years. "We always inspect it before using it in the summer. This year, we didn't find any dangerous situations. We usually check for oil shortages, noises, and loose screws." |
