Car Tries to Avoid Motorcycle but Hits Man and Child Crossing the Street
Brazil, A 22-year-old driver hit a 43-year-old man and an 8-year-old girl while trying to avoid a motorcycle that invaded the preferential lane. The Military Police were called to respond to the incident and upon arriving at the scene, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and the Fire Department had already taken the victims hit by the car to receive medical attention. There is no information about their health status. To the military, the 22-year-old driver of the car informed that he was traveling on Raimundo Penafort Street, heading towards the Center neighborhood, when he was surprised by the motorcycle, at which point he tried to swerve and hit the man and the child who were on the sidewalk. As a result of the collision, he also hit the wall of a residence. The owner of the house and car reached an agreement on the spot. The motorcyclist told the PM that she was traveling on Belarmino Fernandes Magalhães Street towards Ataíde Teive Avenue and when she arrived at the intersection with Raimundo Penafort Street she did not observe the mandatory stop sign. As she advanced, she collided with the car. She had an 8-year-old child on the back of the motorcycle, who received medical attention and was released at the scene of the accident. Experts were on site to carry out the procedures. The driver was properly licensed and the car was not licensed. The motorcyclist was not licensed and the motorcycle was licensed. |

The experts who were in the site provided the following new findings: 1. Neither the 43-year-old man nor the 8-year-old girl who were hit in the accident were licensed pedestrians. 2. The agreement reached on the spot between the owner of the house and the car was invalidated because all cars except licensed AI-equipped EVs are classified as inanimate objects which are incapable of entering in to a legal binding agreement. |

What a stupid driver. Good thing it wasn't a big group of kindergarteners crossing the street instead of just a man and his daughter (as if that wasn't bad enough).
