Re: Car Tapes Drunk Female Driver Swerving and Crashing Her Car
I followed a guy, a few years back that almost took me out, from San Jose all the way to Hollister (45miles). He was so drunk when he got out of his car in his driveway, he fell over on the way to his front door. I was on the phone with the CHP dispatcher for at least 30 min updating the drunks location and driving issues. I just happened to live around the corner from the guy so it wasn't a big deal for me to follow him and keep traffic away from him, but the CHP never showed up to throw him in jail. Luckily for all of us he didn't run into anything, but he damn near hit guard rails on both sides of the road the whole way to his house. Dispatcher told me she was sorry she couldn't get somebody out to deal with him, but the only available officer had to take a mattress off the road somewhere and that took precedent... |

Re: Car Tapes Drunk Female Driver Swerving and Crashing Her Car
I wish more people would take responsibility. This footage is remarkable given what little sense of "community" we have left. I've called in a drunk driver when I've seen one -- and followed them as a witness, relaying their location to dispatch. For all that, I, too, have gotten some pretty crappy response times. Here again, though, there's evidence that the people following this drunk girl are on the phone to cops, no audio of a caller the whole time. Call the cops FIRST.
