This is the new law in the UK, pedestrians now have a license to jay walk and step out in front of you,if you hit them, your at fault, even my wifes examiner stated that in his 45 years as an examiner, this is the most stupidly pathetic law that has ever been passed in his lifetime.  |

To be fair, the driver was probably trying to avoid damage to the big screen TV hanging out of the back door of his car... gotta avoid those delivery fees.

I think it might be the same in the US, or at least parts of the US. I've seen US tourists do that in other countries and nearly earn themselves a post on this site, so I figure the law might be like that for them back home. |

Yep, California has the "Freedom to Walk Act" which essentially condones jaywalking. However, getting both legs broken seems to create a paradox...
