Re: Car Hits Pedestrian for Bonus Points
game over for this fool. A serious accident with a Niva overturning and an injured pedestrian was caught on video in St. Petersburg. The video recorder filmed how an obviously middle-aged pedestrian decided to run across the roadway on Arsenalnaya Embankment near the Finland Station with the speed available to him. One of the drivers slowed down to let the man through. But at that moment, a Niva flew out of the right lane at high speed The SUV hit the pedestrian on a tangent, causing him to fall. He was unable to get up on his own. He required hospitalization. But after the impact, the Niva caught a fence and turned over, crashing into an advertising stand along the way. According to eyewitnesses of the accident, the fault of the pedestrian is beyond doubt. However, the driver of the Niva, it seems, violated the rules of the road. In particular, on this section of the road the speed limit is up to 40 km/h, while the SUV was moving very fast. In addition, from the right lane, only movement to the right is allowed, but, judging by the speed gained, the driver of the Niva, it seems, did not even think about turning. |

Re: Car Hits Pedestrian for Bonus Points
I presume the flashing green light meant that the ped needed to yield to vehicles. But the speeding driver was problematic. If nobody was speeding, the ped would have made that crossing. I agree with Kelly that it appears that the speeding driver was intending to pass on the right, rather than take the exit. If that driver had just chilled and not been so aggressive, everybody's day would have been fine. |
