Re: ~Car Hits Man, Sends Him Flying Through Doorway
If I had a business in Mexico or Central or South America, I would have heavy posts installed in front of my business, to stop that kind of thing.

Re: ~Car Hits Man, Sends Him Flying Through Doorway
I work on Learjets, and our service center was close to Mexico, so we got a LOT of work from Mexican customers. (Tellingly, we opened a service center in Mexico, but none of the Mexican customers wanted to go there. They flew up to us instead) Anywho, I knew several customers who survived kidnapping attempts and one of them DID sell his business, liquidate all his properties in Mexico, and moved his entire family to Colorado. He survived by dumb luck and being alert. He walked into a bar, and heard one of the bartenders on the phone say "Yes, he just walked in!" which put him on alert. He didn't stay long, as he was very suspicious. When he went to leave, 2 guys followed him out. He went to his truck, opened the door, put the keys in the ignition, and fired it up. Just as he did that, the 2 guys tried to jump him, but they were forward of the driver's side door, which he held out against the neighboring car. He let the door close a little, as the guys moved forward, and then he braced his foot on the door and slammed it into them, knocking them both down. By this time he was in the cab, and he punched the accelerator, and knocked the guys down a second time as he accelerated away, peeling out. And that was when he decided to leave Mexico. |
