Car Flips Multiple Times into Hotel’s Parking Lot After Collision
Surveillance video shows a car flipping multiple times in a Sarasota hotel’s parking lot following a collision. It happened Thursday morning outside the Lantern Inn & Suites at U.S. 41 and Pearl Avenue in Sarasota. Video from Jim Gill shows a car heading down U.S. 41 before a van turns in front of it. The car takes evasive maneuvers and switches lanes, but switches into a lane the van was still turning into. The van collides with the car’s driver side front corner, sending it flipping multiple times through a hotel’s parking lot. The van that turned in front of the car waits a few moments before fleeing the scene. 19 year old J ackson Kelley of Bradenton suffered critical injuries and was taken to the hospital. The driver of the Kia Sedona fled the scene traveling north on U.S. 41. No one at the hotel was injured.  · |

update: Police finally have arrested a 24-year-old man they suspect of being the hit-and-run driver who left a 19-year-old critically injured in Sarasota, Florida. Zachari Brock of Bradenton, has been charged with two felonies - leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injury and driving with no valid license involving a serious injury. He is accused of driving the Kia minivan that turned in front of Jack Kelley's black Audi on US 41 on Thursday. The van was attempting to turn into a gas station when it clipped the back of Jack's vehicle and he swerved into the other lane to avoid hitting the other driver. In surveillance video of the crash, the impact sends Jack's car flying into the air and it flips over at least four times. The car finally comes to a stop outside the Lantern Inn and Suites where shocked witnesses rush over to help the teenager. Meanwhile the driver of the minivan immediately drives off.
