Car on Fire when 72-year-old Driver Accidentally Knocks Over a Gas Pump
Thailand. Professional firefighters had to arrive quickly, deploying both chemical foam and water, spraying continuously for 20 minutes before they could completely bring the blaze under control. However, the intense heat had reduced the Nissan to a charred metal frame, lying next to the overturned gas pump. The cause of this unusual incident stemmed from a momentary lapse of attention by the 72-year-old driver. After refueling and moving the car forward to inflate the tires, he discovered that the tire valve had fallen off. Suspecting that the valve might have rolled under the car, the man decided to drive to retrieve the missing part. While reversing and suddenly accelerating, the sedan lost control, crashing violently into a gas pump, causing a fuel leak and an immediate fire. No one got injured. |

Yeah, I think I'd have to turn in my resignation notice before I'd go firefight a gas pump. The best I'm gonna do is hit the emergency cutoff switch.

Re: Car on Fire when 72-year-old Driver Accidentally Knocks Over a Gas Pump
"pumps on fire? I quit..." I honestly wish these firefighter guys were on the scene before those Indians truckers caught on fire vomiting and melting. Except they might only be willing to risk casualty because they own the gas station, couple random Punjis melting and they might not be motivated to blast the flaming victim with their pressurized load. |
