This pissed me off! I thought the baby wandered outside when they first aired it.

SAVANNAH, GA (CNN/WSAV) - A car slammed into a jewelry store in east Georgia, narrowly missing a toddler inside. And the whole thing was caught on camera.

In the video above, you can see the jewelry store owner's 16-month-old son walking in front of a window.

He moves out of the way, and just moments later a car plows right through the window he was just standing in front of.

The accident happened Saturday at Harkleroad Diamonds and Fine Jewelry in Savannah.

"He was catapulted by the force backwards, airborne, I don't know how far. You know, to me, it looked like a long way, but he landed in the only spot in my office that wasn't debris, on carpet. She went between two employees, my jeweler was in the back room working.

Had she gone straight into the store, he would have been seriously injured. So, it was definitely a miracle, a gift from God, that none of us got hurt," said Marion Harkleroad, store owner.

The woman driving the car was charged with reckless driving.

The driver was identified by authorities as 84-year-old Christina Wands, a customer visiting the store to pick up her watch.

“I pulled into the parking space and thought, ‘Gee, great, I have a parking space right up by the door,’ and I was going to put the brake on and turn the car off and go in,” Wands told ABCNews.com today by phone from her Savannah home. “I was wearing diabetic shoes and what must have happened is I hit the gas instead of the brake.”

“I couldn’t find the brake,” she said. “That’s what happened. I did not drive my car into the jewelry store.”

Wands was ticketed and charged with reckless driving, according to Officer Gena Bilbo with the Savannah Police. She is scheduled to appear in court in January.

Her car, a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis, was totaled in the accident and Wand, who herself was not injured, does not plan to drive again.

“I just thank God that I didn’t hit him. I never saw him,” she said of Gray. “I’m glad no one was hurt.”

OK...this would get shot down as discrimination by the ACLU if it were to happen on a nationwide basis, but people who reach a certain age, or people who suffer degenerative diseases that affect muscular or nerve control should be required to take yearly road tests (eye exams too) in order to retain their license. I am sick to death of seeing videos of people who "hit the gas when trying to park" and running through the front of buildings.
