Car Crashes with Ambulance with Its Siren and Lights Activated
Malaysia. The ambulance was responding to an emergency call with its siren and lights activated and as it entered the intersection, it was struck by a Perodua Axia. The impact caused the ambulance to lose control and collide with a Proton Saga waiting at the lights. The ambulance was not carrying any patients at the time but was on its way to pick up a patient from a USM hostel. The 19-year-old female student driver of the Perodua sustained serious injuries to her chest, ribs, and waist. The 51-year-old ambulance driver and 3 medical assistants, two men and one woman aged 35 to 41, suffered minor injuries. The 65-year-old driver of the Proton car was reportedly uninjured. The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving. |
