Bus Driver Kills 2 Calmly Horrific footage of bus accident in Samsun in which 2 people died has emerged - Security camera footage of the passenger bus crash in Samsun's Terme district, which left two people dead, has emerged. The victims were laid to rest today. The footage shows the driver's calm demeanor during the collision. The accident occurred yesterday at around 08:45 on the 61st kilometer of the Samsun-Ordu highway, near Gündoğdu. According to reports, the Mercedes passenger bus with registration number 53 RT 111, driven by Mustafa Hakan O. and belonging to the Sahil Seyahat company, which was travelling from Çanakkale to Rize, hit Aydın Yiğit (47) and Mehmet Yıldız (71), who were pulling a tarpaulin over a truck with registration number 55 ADU 207, which was parked on the side of the road, and then entered a cornfield. Injured by the impact, Yiğit and Yıldız were taken to Terme State Hospital by paramedics. Aydın Yiğit, who was in critical condition, died at Yerme State Hospital despite medical intervention. Mehmet Yıldız, who was also seriously injured and transferred to Samsun Training and Research Hospital, could not be saved despite interventions. The 32 passengers on the bus escaped unharmed, and security camera footage has emerged. The footage shows the driver veering into the emergency lane, hitting pedestrians next to the pickup truck, and then diving into a cornfield. The driver's cool demeanor during the collision was notable. Mehmet Yıldız, the father of four children who lost his life in the accident, was buried in the Derecik Cemetery after the funeral prayer held at the Kefeli Mosque in İstasyon Neighborhood of İlkadım district following the noon prayer; Aydın Yiğit was buried in the family cemetery after the funeral prayer held at the same time at the Atakum Çatmaoluk Mosque. The bus driver, who was detained in the accident, was arrested by the court on the charge of "causing the death of two people through negligence" and sent to prison. |
