Re: Bungee Jumping Are Dangerous
A 56-year-old military police sergeant was seriously injured after an accident while rappelling down a concrete bridge in the Santo Hilário district, in the municipality of Pimenta, Minas Gerais. The incident occurred last Sunday and was recorded by people who were watching the activity. According to reports, the officer was preparing to descend when, upon reaching the lower part of the bridge, he authorized the release of the safety cable. The accident then occurred, causing him to lose control and collide with structures near the bridge. The rescue was carried out by people in a nearby boat, with support from the Military Police and the Fire Department. The victim was taken to the Santa Casa de Piumhi hospital, where he remains hospitalized. According to the Military Police, the sergeant suffered a fractured rib, pneumothorax, abrasions, and serious injuries to one of his arms. |

Re: Bungee Jumping Are Dangerous
There’s a pattern emerging, and a lesson to be learned. Do not go bungee jumping in a foreign land. There seems to be zero safety protocols/standards/checks.

Re: Bungee Jumping Are Dangerous
That’s not bungee jumping. That’s rope swinging. With bungee “jumping” you jump out over where the cords are attached , drop straight down and bounce back up. This is not that at all. With some bridges you bring the cables under the bridge when they’re attached to the other side so you don’t hit the bridge on the rebound. You launch higher than the bridge on the rebound. Real bungee jumping is a blast when you’re with the right company hosting the event. I worked with Vertigo Bungee back in the day. |
