During a patron saint festival in Real del Limón, a community in the municipality of Cocula, Guerrero, Mexico, a spark from a traditional bull-shaped fireworks display known as a torito strayed and ignited at least 10 bull-shaped fireworks displays stored inside the chapel's dome vault.

The resulting massive blast killed 3 women (one who was eight months pregnant) and injured over 30 people, incl. young children.

The explosion caused panic, a stampede and the partial collapse of the local church's structure.
