A city bus driver has been hailed a hero after he pulled a potentially suicidal woman off the edge of a bridge.

Darrell Barton encountered the woman in her 20s while driving his route in Buffalo, New York.

CCTV footage from the bus shows the woman standing along the railing of the bridge and leaning over the traffic below.

Mr Barton stopped the bus and asked the woman if she needed help. "She was distraught, she was distant, she was really disconnected," Mr Barton told a local television station.

Footage shows Mr Barton approaching the woman and putting his arm around her before helping her climb over the railing.

The bus driver then sat with the woman on the sidewalk until help arrived. Mr Barton's passengers applauded as he returned to the bus to continue his route.

"It was meant to be," he said. "I was supposed to be there for her at that moment and I was."

Damn it, suicidal people are such selfish cunts. So this time she doesn't throw herself under the bus, she makes the bus driver clamber out of his vehicle and haul her back over the railing. He doesn't really need that sort of exertion; the only reason he's got a big heart is because it's surrounded by fat and struggling with DCM. Like he really needs that! Selfish bitch...
