On the morning of this Tuesday (6), a woman was hit by a power pole while riding a motorcycle on a road in the São João neighborhood, in Abaetetuba, northeast of Pará.

According to witnesses, a truck, which was passing by, ended up dragging the wiring from the street, which would have caused the fall of two poles, where one of them hit a parked car and the other the woman on the motorcycle.

A team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called to help the victim. She received first aid still at the scene and was referred to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) of the municipality.

Then the victim, still unidentified, was taken to the Metropolitan Hospital of Urgency and Emergency, for a neurosurgical evaluation. Her health status is considered stable and there is no risk of death.

In a statement, Equatorial Energia Pará, the concessionaire that serves the region, regrets what happened and says that the poles hit by the truck, as well as the wiring, would be telephony and are not part of the electricity distribution network, so the accident did not affect the supply in the area.
