20.01.2024 - There was an accident involving a lorry that crashed after it was believed to have brake problems before crashing into several other vehicles in Ara Kuda, Tasek Gelugor, Penang on Saturday. Through a 28-second video recording from the rear of the car, several vehicles are seen stopping at an intersection. However, a lorry was then seen speeding and moving from left to right, believed to be due to brake problems. Efforts to stop the heavy vehicle, however, failed when the lorry involved skidded before hitting several vehicles in front of it, including the car whose camera was recording the incident. Based on the clip, the screams of the woman believed to be the owner of the vehicle were also heard several times before she disappeared. At the same time, the vehicle's camera was also heard emitting audio stating that the device had stopped recording. The date and day in the video show that it happened on Saturday around 12 noon. As far as this report is written, the police have not yet issued any statement regarding the status of the victim involved in the incident. |

I was on a rural highway where traffic backed up. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a semi tractor with the brakes smoking while trying to stop…. It’s pretty unnerving to see something that large traveling right at you with nowhere to turn..

Back in HS, driving an old van, my brakes instantly went out while approaching stopped traffic at a red light. That was pretty unnerving too. I was too inexperienced to think of stomping the emergency brake. I swerved into the oncoming lanes to pass through the intersection and got t-boned by a car just starting out on a green light. Put me up on 2-wheels which gave my mates an extra thrill, and I put it back down on all 4s back in my proper lane, past the intersection. Two tires were flattened but I was the HS stunt car driver after that one.
