BMW Hits a Car Carrier Trailer That Crashes Through a Median Barrier
Poland, On Monday, May 14, around 1:00 pm on route DK-81 a truck carrying new KIA cars collided with two passenger cars, a BMW and an Audi. The truck crashes through the median barrier and falls into a ditch on to its side. How the accident occured? The truck and a BMW car moved towards Katowice. As police were able to determine, the BMW driver made a sharp lane change maneuver from left to right and hit the side of the truck. This maneuver was dictated by the moment of inattention. On the gauge of the left lane there was a car, which the driver expected to turn left (to the BP station and a restaurant). The impact force knocked the truck off the track. After the collision the BMW stopped at the barriers separating the road. The truck crashed through the barriers, into the opposite lane, where it fell over and collided with the Audi. The truck driver and the Audi driver were transported to the hospital. Their lives are not in danger. The other participants of the accident were treated on the spot. The total damage is estimated around one and a half million zlotys. (412 905 U.S. dollars) |
