Actually, I get the impression the driver *was* paying attention; he hits the brakes very early as indicated by the brake lights. What I do see is a car with absolutely shitty brakes that don't stop him in time. I guess car maintenance is not a big deal in USSR...

Looked like he just stamped on the brakes, the wheels locked and he just slid along until he stopped. Clueless idiot didn't even try pumping the pedal.
