I don't get these people who just look ahead while crossing a crosswalk. I always make sure no car is hauling ass towards me. Saved my ass many times.

And in all fairness to the driver, he *did* apply his brakes the moment he would have had a clear line of sight to the crosswalk. In the wet, a car will slide pretty easily, and it didn't look like he was going fast at all. I'm more inclined to say the pedestrian is an idiot in this case.
