It's only legal where I am if it stationary traffic and it's up the middle, not the shoulder. Apparently as a whole city it would reduce traffic congestion. That's the bullshit the traffic authority spun anyway.

It's the same in England, it saves lots of time but you get the odd car driver that blocks your path on purpose. Jealousy is a bitch I guess.
