Biker Launches Himself and the Bike from an Overpass
Brazil, a biker got seriously wounded and his bike destroyed when he loses control of the bike, colliding against the road barrier wall, launching himself and the bike from an overpass. Although the impact was violent, the man driving a Honda CB-650F did not suffer serious injuries and survived the crash. According to the rescuers, he only complained of pains in the column and was sent to the Hospital for body scans. The rescue was triggered by drivers passing by. |

I was talking to my neighbor thats a Police Officers. He told me Police Officers don't chase people on bikes. They just wait and peel them from telephone poles.

And that's why it's recommended to wear good quality personal protective equipment when riding a motorbike. I suspect if the rider hadn't been wearing good, armoured leathers the outcome would have been very different. Mind you, I'm pretty sure they landed on something with some give in it before they hit the ground, maybe a car or van, I can't imagine the chances of survival would be high if they'd fallen from that height straight onto the road, the scope for mashing internal organs would be extremely high. Someone has definitely used up a great deal of luck there...

Did he survive because of the stuff he was wearing? Usually never see any of the bike victims have anything like this on. Glad the bystanders were not moving him! Amazing he survived!  |

From that height, and the position his head was in on the road; there is no doubt at all that he would have been dead on the spot if he had not been wearing a helmet.
