Re: Bear Enters Canadian Subway Restaurant
A BLACK bear that size is no real threat to adult humans. This bear could have been relocated but, especialy with young, impressionable bears it is better to use loud noise and even a rubber bullet to the butt to reafirm it's natural fear of humans. I'm glad the police where I live, in the state of Pennsylvania, don't have the authority to shoot wildlife like that. PS. I hunt, kill and eat bears but I respect them. |

Re: Bear Enters Canadian Subway Restaurant
I don't know about Canada but you can get it from the Subways in the state I'm in (Maryland) and yes a bear is a bear. I was freaking out just watching this!! I don't understand why they couldn't shoot the bear with a tranquilizer so they could carry him back where he may have come from. As always though with the Police.... |

Re: Bear Enters Canadian Subway Restaurant
Quite the opposite. I realise my post was brief. As I stated, that bear appears to be young and in my opinion did not display behavior consistant with chronic dependency on human resources. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and it's Game Commission is a world leader in the field of Black Bear studies. As a licensed hunter and trapper of thirtysix years I try to keep up to date on recent findings. I have no qualifications as an expert but of all the field sports, bear hunting and the knowledge of their ways is my #1 pursuit. |
