A new surveillance video, provided by the Bakersfield Police Department, shows the moment that a BPD cruiser crashed into another vehicle while responding to a call.

The crash happened at the intersection of White Lane and Wible Road around 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 23.

According to the BPD, the officer was responding to an emergency call with his lights and siren. When the officer entered the intersection east on White Lane, he collided with a car headed north on Wible.

The force of the impact drove the cruiser and the other vehicle into to more cars.

The officer and the driver of the vehicle that collided with him were both taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

If you replay it and look at the light timing, it looks like the crossing car might have been running the yellow light at the time. I guess it depends on how long their yellow lights are out there.

Keystone Kop Kar wasn't clear of the blue car getting out of his way long enough to properly ascertain if it was safe to proceed. Officer Donut was in too big of a hurry.

Wow. That intersection is near my house. Drive thru that intersection everyday. Must have missed the news that day. If the person had a green light they get a new car!

Damn!! Well the police officer clearly fucked up for not looking both ways before crossing an intersection on red. Very Dumb decision I'm sorry to say that but it is true.
