Re: Bad Crash on RT 21 Fayette County

MCCLELLANDTOWN, Pa. Two Fayette County men recording a bad driver in front of them are thankful they're not hurt after that driver caused a crash that involved their truck.

Kaecieo Bass and Kevin Denney were riding in one of their employer's trucks Monday morning when they noticed the woman in front of them was driving erratically. Denney, who was driving the truck for Fayette Rental Solutions, told Bass, the passenger, to record it on his cellphone.

"She was swerving in and out. She would go off the road and she would come back out, then she would go back into the other lane. It kind of scared us a little bit," Bass said. "I started actually praying for her and everybody else on the road and making sure sure -- praying, hoping everyone would be okay."

The video, which Bass posted to Facebook, is about three minutes long and shows the driver crossing the double yellow line into the opposing lane of Route 21 and then crossing the white line on the other side of the lane before entering her lane of travel.

This happens several times on the video. Toward the end of the video, the woman drives in front of a vehicle in the opposite lane of travel and the victim hits her car before the victim's vehicle hits Denney's truck.

"I knew she was going to get hit when she cut that car off. It just happened so quickly," Denney said.

Denney and Bass weren't hurt. After the wreck, Bass tended to the driver who was in the opposite lane of travel. He said she had forehead injuries and "seemed out of it."

Denney and a witness to the crash approached the woman who caused the wreck. "She was just sitting there with her phone in her hand, so I don't know if she was texting or if she grabbed it after it all happened," Denney said.

State police are still investigating the crash. No word on if the driver who caused the crash will face any charges.

"I want people to watch it and learn from it so it doesn't happen again," Bass said.

"Said he knew it was coming" then why follow so close? Changing her tampon--#13 on the list of things not to do while driving.

At least the filmers didn't lose their heads, and got on with what needed to be done. Good for them.

Re: Bad Crash on RT 21 Fayette County

Damn, that happened about 6 miles from Uniontown, PA! Uniontown is where the majority of my extended family lived at one time.

There are a lot of DUI accidents there. Heading west on US-40 out of Uniontown, they have rumblers cut into the road in the middle yellow line. They also have a bunch of "Targeted Enforcement Area" road signs for ten miles or so. So seeing a drunk driver around there isn't too shocking.

And FWIW, she was turning into the Double T Bar & Grill when she got hit. The way she was driving, another drink is the last thing that wench needs.

the video taker actually told the driver to hold back a bit because he doesnt want them to get involved in an accident. and it wasn't the offender that hit them but the vehicle that the offender cut. not much they can do and its good they were ok. that lady should be banned from driving for life. she's a menace
