Amusement Park Ride Collapses Leaving 20 Injured in Russia
20 people have been injured after a ride collapsed at a fairground in Russia. The moment the swing ride collapsed at the Oren-park funfair in Orenburg on Saturday was caught on camera – and there have been multiple arrests in connection with the incident. 11 people were hospitalised, with a 27-year-old woman described as being ‘in extremely serious condition’ and a teenage girl ‘in serious condition’. The governor of the Orenburg area has ordered all fairground rides in the region undergo an inspection, as the cause of the collapse has preliminarily been given as ‘mechanical failure’. |
