American Parachutist Stuck on a High-voltage Pole
A 55-year-old American parachutist was rescued after being stuck on a high-voltage pole while attempting to land on Tawan Beach on January 12. The accident caused him to hang more than 10 meters above the ground and resulted in a temporary power outage across the island. The rescue team worked with the electricity authorities to cut off the power before safely bringing him down. He suffered injuries from electric shock and was sent to Koh Larn Hospital. This parachutist is a licensed jumper with certification from the Thai Air Sports Association. He took off from the top of Koh Larn but misjudged his landing, which led to him getting stuck. |
