Air Conditioning Hose Sucked into a Frontier Airlines Airbus A320-251N
A Frontier Airlines Airbus A320-251N aircraft was parked on the tarmac at Charlotte Douglas International Airport when a ground air conditioning hose was sucked into its engine, ripping it to pieces.

When I worked for the airlines, my office was on the 4th floor of the terminal building arm, right above the end gates. A 757 pulled in from JFK, and when it got close to the stopping point, for some reason the pilot increased power momentarily, and the big yellow air conditioning hose jumped out of it's basket, and went right into the engine inlet. We heard the noise upstairs, and when we went to the window, just like this airplane, parts were whirling around in the L/H engine inlet. But at least it wasn't some poor ramper! |
