Hillsborough County. Video showing last Thursday's crash that involves an 82,000-pound crane, a sheriff's cruiser, a HART bus, a dump truck and a minivan.
8 people were injured; the most serious was Deputy Deborah Walker, 51, who had 5 broken ribs, bruised lungs and a 10-inch cut to her left arm. Her condition has steadily improved in the last week.
The video comes primarily from three cameras on the Hartline bus, which was stopped at the intersection of Hillsborough Avenue and 56th Street.
One camera shows the area ahead of the bus, another shows the driver and the third shows an overhead view of the passengers.
The most dramatic portion of the video shows traffic streaming through the intersection.
After a few seconds, Walker's cruiser comes into the screen.
Just as the patrol car enters the intersection, the crane slams into the side of the cruiser.
It pushes the patrol car sideways through the intersection; the two vehicles slam into a minivan, which is then pushed into the HART bus.
In the video, the crane appears to be heading at full speed through the intersection before the crash.
Another portion of the video shows the bus driver reacting as the crash happens and the minivan hits the bus.
The third and last segment of the 51-second video shows the three passengers in the HART bus.
All three passengers appear to have seen the accident unfolding before their bus was hit because all reached ahead to hold onto the seat in front of them a second or two before impact.
The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
