66 Year Old Woman with Cane Run Over by a Garbage Truck
Peru. Maria M.P.Z, 66, (other sources mention 65) who just finished her job of washing fishing crates at the fish market and walked with a cane crossed the road when she was run over by a garbage truck and now she's dead.  |

A white cane? Looks like she was walking pretty aimlessly across the road. Standing in the middle of a lane, not on the crossing. Then wandering across in front of the truck. The driver couldn't be expected to anticipate she would do that and I guess could not see her. Probably would have been a different story if she waited on the crossing and crossed on the crossing. Was her vision good enough to see when the traffic had stopped? |
