54 Yo Romanian Woman on Sidewalk Hit by Drunk Foreign Bmw Driver

Romania, Timisoara. A 54-year-old woman was hit Sunday morning by a BMW with a french license plate that went on the sidewalk on a street in Lugoj.

Doctors at the local hospital in Timisoara, where she was transported to said she went under surgery. She was diagnosed with head trauma and leg trauma.

"She was under surveillance, is conscious and is stable," said a spokesman for the County Hospital in Timisoara.

The driver told the magistrates that he was not guilty and that the accident did not occured at a speed exceeding the speed limit, but was only 50-60 kilometers per hour.

After four days the Court Lugoj magistrates decided to keep him under arrest for 29 days. The sentence is final.

The man is accused of driving without a license, fleeing the scene, driving a vehicle under the influence and harm by negligence.

Defendant caused a serious traffic accident after driving drunk and without a license, entered on the sidewalk and hit a woman.

After the accident, the driver fled the scene with passengers accompanying him.
