At approximately 9 PM on December 20th, three teenagers from An Chau commune were riding a motorbike from the Hau Hoa parish area back to An Chau commune. When they reached the inter-communal concrete road bordering the former Dien Loc and Dien Tan areas, the motorbike suddenly crashed head-on into a small truck traveling in the opposite direction, which was turning left into a residential area. The powerful collision sent one teenager flying into the middle of the road, while the other two were thrown against the roadside fence. As a result, 15-year-old Khanh died on the spot. The two 13-year-old teenagers sustained serious injuries and were taken to Nghe An Friendship General Hospital for emergency treatment. The truck driver was unharmed. At the scene, the motorbike was completely destroyed, with many pieces scattered across the road; the truck sustained damage to its front end. The section of road where the accident occurred is more than 6 meters wide, has many small alleys, lacks public streetlights, and the light mainly comes from the houses on either side. Initially, authorities believe the motorbike carrying the three teenagers was traveling at high speed, giving the truck driver no time to react. The scene investigation revealed that the motorbike riders did not wear helmets. On the morning of December 21st, the An Chau commune police, in coordination with the Nghe An provincial police, investigated the cause of the accident. |
