You would be surprised. I had something similar happen to me when I was 19, SUV hit me and sent me flying through the air, then I landed and slid down the street a bit. Half the skin on my face got peeled off, the fingers on my right hand got pretty messed up to the point where the paramedics told me to not look at my hand, both shoulders were dislocated and my legs were bending in ways they shouldn't. After about 9-12 months of recovery I was back to my old self with just a few scars and a somewhat messed up hand, along with a cool story to tell the ladies.
