India. A tragic road accident claimed the lives of a driver and a young girl on Tuesday morning, March 3, after a speeding pick-up truck crashed into a divider on the expressway.

The accident occurred around 9:30 AM near Gahar Purwa village at kilometer marker 224, within the jurisdiction of the Bangarmau police station.

A Mahindra pick-up, acting as a loader vehicle, was carrying 14 passengers from Faridabad to the village of Auras in Unnao for Holi celebrations.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the vehicle traveling in the middle of the road before suddenly veering sharply and striking the central divider.

The impact was so severe that several passengers were reportedly flung from the vehicle into the air.

The deceased have been identified as A.K, 30, who was the driver and owner of the vehicle.
S. a young girl who was the daughter of M, a passenger in the vehicle.

Six other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Community Health Centre in Bangarmau by responding police and rescue teams.

Preliminary investigations by the UP Police suggest the driver may have dozed off at the wheel, leading to the loss of control. Authorities also noted that the vehicle was both speeding and overloaded at the time of the crash.
