16 Injured when Amusement Park Ride Breaks Down
Yesterday, an amusement project in Shaoyang County, Hunan Province broke down. The flying chairs that the tourists were riding in fell out of control and hit the ground. Some tourists on the seats fell got injured. At present, 16 people were injured in the accident, of which 3 were seriously injured. An investigation team has been established locally to further investigate the cause of the accident. Due to the thrills and excitement, in recent years, large-scale amusement facilities such as the pendulum and speed car have attracted more and more tourists, and there are long queues on holidays. Statistics show that there are over 20,000 large-scale amusement facilities nationwide. In this context, if the hidden dangers are not eliminated in time, related safety accidents are very likely to occur. Not long ago, a girl in Fengdu, Chongqing, was thrown to her death while riding in "Space" because the passenger's seat belt was broken and the safety lever was not effectively tightened. A few days ago, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has issued an emergency notice requesting all localities to carry out investigations on hidden dangers in large-scale amusement facilities "Travel in Space", highlighting the urgency of eliminating similar risk points. |

Bet that opened their eyes! But seriously, you aren't far wrong. I read about 20 years ago, in the Wall Street Journal IIRC, that China imports a lot of old / used amusement park rides from the USA and they have a good deal of accidents. It's probably like the thousands they kill in mining accidents each year, kept hush hush... |

Wow, second vid, looks like they rode that ride straight to Hell. The person outside the safety gate looks dead with brains coming out their left ear. Amusement park rides, bio-weapon viruses, just wait for the Chinese to have a few Fukashima or Chernyobl accidents, but worse! |
