I JUST heard about this on a news bulletin, and wondered if anyone would have put up anything on it. My understanding is the SUV pulled out onto the highway, disregarding the approaching semi loaded with gravel, and the semi hit them broadside. You would think with that many bodies to cushion the impact, there would have been more survivors. |

No seats. Still it must have been pretty squishy and unpleasant in there. Even before the crash. I wondered that as well about the Schoharie NY limo crash. Although the front part of the limo was totalled, the back part (where most passengers were) looks fairly intact. Still everyone died. I guess at high speeds people slam into each other causing blunt force trauma. Deceleration causing internal ruptures. Lots of nasty things can happen. |

Re: 15 Killed when SUV Carrying 27 People Hits Truck in Southern California: Offici
With enough force (momentum that suddenly and violently comes to a halt) your organs turn into liquid, smashing to pulp against your ribs and the like.. For example.. You could see it some time ago with a Russian girl jumping the 16th floor, if played frame by frame by frame . Her body stayed "intact" during and after impact. But her intestines and organs became liquified by the impact, moving everywhere like a watery substance within her body, where the skinn was able to stretch enough Bloating different parts of her body when momentum changed during the different frames of the body impacting and bouncing of the sidewalk. ...since the internals got liquide The maximum felocity of a human being in free fall while not skydiving is approx 195km/h (54 m/s or 121 mph). Or at least, they say in general, a person falling through the air on Earth reaches terminal velocity after about 12 seconds, which covers about 450 meters or 1500 feet. So back to the Case of the Russian Girl, the 16th floor should be about 50/55 meters. So not even close to the 450m needed to reach maximum felocity of approximately 200km/h (±123mp/h) Relating this to Car crashes, they happen often at extreme speeds well exceeding the girls felocity that turned her internals into a messy organ soup, so a regular car crash can easily do much more damage then the eye can see from the outside. Simple crashes can already be deadly, especially when there is a sudden and extreme change in momentum. Our body's organs simply cannot handle such forces |

I always wanted to see pics of the victims in that Limo crash. I never heard another word about it after the initial headlines. I also never heard what the cause was.

I understand this SUV was part of a 2 vehicle convoy that rolled through a hole cut in the border wall. Unfortunately, they didn't make it too far into the U.S. I don't know if the other SUV with illegals got away or not. I assume they just drove away.

Re: 15 Killed when SUV Carrying 27 People Hits Truck in Southern California: Offici
It was a cascade of failures. The limousine was described as a junker; regulations about limo inspection were incredibly lax at the time. The driver had significant amounts of THC in his blood. The crash occurred when the brakes failed at a T intersection at the bottom of a steep hill, the sole of the driver's shoe was worn through from desperately trying to pump the brake. Here's the NTSB report https://www.ntsb.gov/investigations/...ts/HAR2003.pdf |
