14 Killed when Bridge in Brazil Collapses
Brazil. Newly released footage provides a clearer view of the collapse of the Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira (JK) Bridge on December 22, 2024, in which 14 people died and left only one survivor. The video is part of a legal campaign against DNIT as victims' families demand compensation, with officials noting that legal proceedings for damages are still ongoing with no immediate payment forecast. A newly build bridge is approx. 75% complete as of late 2025 while the official goal for completion was/is December 2025 to early 2026. The remaining unstable sections of the old bridge were imploded using 250kg of explosives to clear the site. All 24 deep foundations and 26 pillars have been finished. Work is now focused on the final decking and the central span using a specialized cantilever method. |

Re: 14 Killed when Bridge in Brazil Collapses
The motorcycle as it seems to drift in midair like it’s got antigravity drive or something. The bridge falls away so fast it just hangs there for a second or two before gravity kicks in.. Amazing footage!!! |

Brazil is in partnership with China's Belt and Road Initiative in Latin America. Clearly, this is an example of a tofu-dreg construction project.
