Poland, Gdansk. On the opening day of the Gdansk zoo a member of the public filmed how a lion chases and attacked a lioness and biting her by the throat till she stopped moving.

The lions came to Gdansk a week ago. The male came from a zoo in Portugal while three females came from a Paris zoo.

During the day the animals were housed together in the pavilion and at night the male and females were separated.

For the first time the lions were shown to the audience last Saturday, the day the zoo opened.

On the Internet emerged allegations that the garden too quickly issued a public view after traveling stressed animals.

Today marks a week since the animals were together. There was no aggression between them, on the contrary, they lay together and huddled. After all, if there were any signs of aggression, no one would force them into one secluded area.
