Zapped Man Fell Onto House Gate when Installing Antenna for Internet Access
A Brazilian man who worked on an electricity pole, in front of a residence, suffered an accident late Saturday morning while at the top of a ladder during service work he got zapped and fell on an entrance gate where he died. Before the fall he suffered an electric shock and became unbalanced. With the accident, the top floor of the house also caught fire and the firefighters were called in to rescue the victim and extinguish the flames. After the fall, D. L, 27, was punctured by the bars of the gate. After the fall he remained there for several minutes, stuck to the entrance door, until firemen arrived and freed the body. The fire was also contained quickly. According to residents, the victim used an iron rod when doing his work, installing an antenna for internet access on the premises. He was on a seven-foot-high ladder. D. L, had married last Thursday (23). His body is in the courtyard of the house waiting for expertise to arrive. To place him in the yard, firefighters had to saw the gate to free him. According to firefighters, the man was killed not by electrocution, but due to the fall of the ladder that was placed on the pole in front of the residence that was set ablaze. "We are still sorting the information to find out what happened," says the fire department. The young man who did the job was not a resident of the neighborhood. The firefighters are still finding out what kind of service was being performed and the details of the cause of the accident and death. |
