Re: Young Robber Dies Gurgling & Spitting Blood Over His Face After Cop Shot Him
He may have been a good person that made bad decisions. He also may have never intended to fire his weapon but to use it as a scare tactic or barganing chip. But I guess the best anyone can do here is speculate beyond the known facts of the case. It sounds like the cop acted in self-defense, he wouldn't have known what the kid's intentions were and unfortunately, didn't really have time to think about it either. Then again, everyone has their opinions and it seems this post has created quite a lot of polarization between some of the DR members. I see this in a couple of different angles. First, anyone who has a conscious or any ounce of empathy probably would not be celebratory mood after killing a 16 year-old kid or anyone else for that matter, even cognizant that hesitation could have landed him in the morgue instead. Either way, replaying that event in his head and the guilt of taking another person's life will likely punish that cop's consciousness for the rest of his life. Second, anyone who loved that kid will never see him again for the rest of their lives. Assuming he had caring parents or guardians of some type, they will probably never find full closure on what happened the day this was filmed, coupled with the bitter feelings of knowing that the man who killed their son will never see the justice they think he deserves, even though the cop had to make a choice no one should ever have to make. Third, being a victim of robbery has to equally terrifying and humiliating in ways I don't understand and God willing I never have to experience. I can only hope that those of you who commented on being victims of this or any other violent crimes, can find peace and solitude that you deserve while struggling with the injustice of having those things taken away from you. On top of all that, was the exchange of gunfire, followed by the sight of someone bleeding to death and gurgling on their own blood in real time. Now we have another person who will be struggling and suffering from with the emotional trauma of this event through the eyes of the victim that may never fully heal. Finally, this kid made the choice to rob other people even if he rationalized that this sort if thing would never happen to him. Whatever the circumstances were, he still chose to hold up people at gunpoint even if he ignored the consequences for doing so. That being said, this is for me one of those rare cases where I think everyone lost in the end and there are no real right or wrong opinions. |

that was pretty sad, hes 16 and no one even offered to hold him up so he didnt choke, a life is a life. not that he would have lived but non the less, he shouldnt be filmed while dying.

It's happened in Brazil. Here (Brazil), people always enjoy to see a thief dying, because it's the only way to make them stop to practice crimes, once the jail system is useless.

I wouldn't care what he did I'd still try and help him rather then stand there filming it letting him clearly drown in his own blood, man its hard not to want to flip him over how can no one at the scene do that????
